Reach for the higher levels!

A young woman bounces high up into the air restrained by a harness

Elisha was a prophet who heard clearly from God. It was said to the king of Syria, an enemy of Israel that Elisha “Tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.” 2 Kings 6:12 He functioned at such a high level that he seems surprised that he does not know why a woman had come to him saying “Let her alone, for her soul is troubled within her; and the Lord has hid it from me and has not told me.” 2 kings 4:27

In Amos 3:7 it says “Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets.”

Isaiah 42:9 reads “See the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”

Jesus walked with God and no situation took him by surprise – He knew Judas was going to betray him Mt 26:25, that Lazarus had died Jn 11:14, that Peter would deny him three times Mt 26:34. He knew what people were thinking in their hearts Mt 9:4, Mk 2:8, Luke 5:22.
Jesus was able to clearly see situations before they arose. In Luke 22 He was able to describe to the disciples that when they entered Jerusalem “A man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house that he enters. And you shall say to the owner of the house, ‘The teacher says to you “Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?’ And he will show you a large, furnished upper room; prepare it there.” And they left and found everything just as He had told them; and they prepared the Passover.” Luke 22:10-13
This gift of seeing clearly, is in the reach of those who will do “greater works than Him” John 14:12 - especially corporately, together as the body of Christ.
The ability to be able to see/hear clearly for the body of Christ so that, even if the odds are overwhelming, we may walk victoriously forward with sure feet, and not be surprised by anything in our path, is one of the primary callings of those in the prophetic ministry.

"And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?" Job 26:24

Jesus prayed for his disciples “Father, I desire that they also whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world."

When praying for his glory you like John may hear the call “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things." Revelation 4:1

"Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him. For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God" 1 Cor 2:9-10

Rick Joyner points out that the Jews can still point to their prophets like Moses and Elijah claiming that the church does not have anyone to compare with them. There will come a time however when the church will rise up in the gifts of God and provoke the Jews to jealousy!

Rom 10:19 “I will make you jealous by that which is not a nation, by a nation without understanding will I anger you.”

“He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Revelation 2:1
